That’s why we use a very systematic approach to our academic planning, coaching, and curriculum to help keep students on course for a purposeful four years of high school. Through our 156-page workbook, we provide a plan for every high school year outlining the most important tasks a student will need to accomplish. The search for the right college actually begins with “searching” one’s self. As part of our college planning process, this unit introduces students to an academic assessment that forms the foundation for effective career counseling and long-term academic planning. With expert guidance from Oasis’s education support center, students begin discovering how their interests, strengths, and personality connect to the best possible college fit.
In this unit, students will work towards creating a Strengths-Based Profile that will tell colleges what they are like as a student and person. It includes the following:
Self-Assessment, Building a 3D Profile, Social Issues Interest Survey, Personal Inventory, Goals and Dreams, Elevator Pitch, Community Service Checklist, Career Exploration and Informational Interviews, and Summer Planning.
